Students of Kent Ridge Hall at NUS will be performing their bi-annual Hall Production that’s open to the public.
This year, the production team will be putting up an adapted play titled, “Those Who Can’t, Teach”, written by Haresh Sharma. Originally performed by The Necessary Stage in 1990 for the grand opening of The Substation, “Those Who Can’t, Teach” is a refreshing injection of comedy and drama into a universal narrative about overstretched teachers and troubled teenagers, a subject that remains pertinent to recurring public debate on the education system.
As the teachers struggle daily to ‘nurture and groom’, the students prefer to hang out and chill. In the meantime, they all have to deal with the dreaded ‘parents’. With upskirting and texting, teaching and politicking, school has never been the same.
Time & Date: 23 Feb, 7.30pm; 24 Feb 2pm and 7.30pm
Ticket price: $25 (www.teachtheplay.com)
