Singapore is definitely growing into a hub for all things theatre. At the eye of the storm is Pangdemonium Productions, a local theatre company helmed by dynamic husband and wife duo Adrian and Tracie Pang.

Pangdemonium Productions was conceived in 2010, and calls themselves ‘Singapore’s most kick-ass theatre company’, a lofty claim they have lived up to in the past two years. The recently concluded Spring Awakening, a German play so controversial it was banned for many years, was lauded by critics and audiences alike for its gutsy take on the turbulent years of adolescence.

Their latest creation is Swimming With Sharks, slated for a September 2012 opening. Pangdemonium is mum about the plot, but the play shares the same name as the 1994 Kevin Spacey movie about a young Hollywood assistant who exacts revenge on his abusive boss. Movie comparisons aside, if the poster is anything to go by, this will be one play with bite.
