Local theatre company Pangdemonium presents the world premiere of This Is What Happens To Pretty Girls written by Singapore playwright, Ken Kwek (award-winning director of Unlucky Plaza).
As tidal waves of sexual assault allegations brought against powerful and influential men gained traction, issues once considered taboo have been brought to the forefront for discussion, with movements like #MeToo and Time’s Up helping millions of sexual assault and harassment victims find their voices as survivors and warriors worldwide.
This Is What Happens to Pretty Girls tells the story of those voices that are still silenced, with secrets and truths demanding to be told, and will challenge you to question yourself and the people you think you know. To create this play, playwright Ken Kwek conducted over 100 interviews, and drew from true-life stories of sexual trauma and survival.
