Bhumi Collective is back with a Singapore premiere of Charlie by Victoria Chen, after two successful runs at the Edinburgh Student Arts Festival and the On the Rock Festival 2017.
This 1-on-1 interactive piece gives the audience the responsibility of shaping a girl’s idea of the world through their words. In a world rife with all sorts of upheavals, twelve-year-old Charlie has spent virtually her entire life within the confines of a sterile room. She has been brought up to believe that there is danger beyond her room, and that the world has made a sacrifice for her to remain safe where she is.
The time has finally come for Charlie to meet the world and discover what really lies beyond the only four walls that she is familiar with. If your words were the only thing a little girl could hang on to in this maddening world, what would you say to her?
