Campus Issue 56: International Issue

The latest issue of our magazine – Campus – is out! We’ve coined our vaguely-named ‘International Issue’ originally to tackle plenty of serious issues around the world, but we somehow ended up adding a lot of fun things as well – the blue cover with an alien should give you a bit of a clue.

Read up on our Hot Sauces around the world (p.18) – which could be quite exciting for those of us who like a bit of spice in our life. Why settle for Tabasco or Maggi Chilli when you’ve got a world of flavours out there?

If you’re a globe trotter, then you’ll probably want to look out for the Best Bookstores (p.5) around the world that range from the beautiful Livrario Lello in Portugal to the themed Cook & Book in Brussels. Globetrotting audiophiles may want to check out some of the most happening Music Festivals (p.8) around the globe, whether you’re into EDM or Japanese punk rock.

For the Halloween season, we’ve also listed some Haunted Hotels in Asia (p.20) – you don’t have to go far to have your spooks! Not a fan of ghosts? Then read up on some superheroes around the world (p.9) that you never knew existed!

If you’re interested to know more about real issues around the world, read up more about the greatest marketing stunt in the history of the world – diamonds (p.16) are not what they’re cracked up to be after all. For more serious issues, you should read up on the ‘Marry Your Rapist’ laws (p.12) that still exist in the world today; some of these may surprise you.

Looking for the best unis? We’ve got you covered with our Top 10 young unis around the world – most of them are conveniently in Asia. Not sure where to go to for internships? Why not read up on ASEAN (p.13) countries before you decide? Or check out countries that are attracting young talent (p.6).

As always, you can pick up your free copy of the magazine at your tertiary institution (check the list here – if your school isn’t there, contact us!) or read online here. As a youth-driven magazine, we are always open to fresh new writers/contributors who want to practise their writing skills! Email us at interns@campus.com.sg.
