Hungry already? Good — because the Singapore Food Festival (SFF) is making its grand return from 4 to 24 September, and this year, it’s going big on nostalgia, innovation, and that warm fuzzy feeling you get when someone asks, “Have you eaten yet?”

Now in its 32nd edition, SFF 2025 is more than just makan — it’s a celebration of the stories, heritage, and bold ideas that make Singapore’s food scene what it is today (and what it could be tomorrow). With over 15 official events, 50 partner pop-ups, and a smorgasbord of quirky, artsy, and downright delicious happenings, this year’s festival is one for the food-obsessed and food-curious alike.

Mise en Place @ Dempsey Hill: Festival Playground

The beating heart of this year’s festival is Mise en Place @ Dempsey Hill — think of it as a food funfair meets design showcase. You’ll find exclusive experiences, stylish bites, and yes, the Asian debut of Zumbo Desserts by Aussie dessert wizard Adriano Zumbo (think Willy Wonka with better plating).

And just when you thought food and fashion don’t mix — Daniel Boey steps in. The iconic fashion showman is giving the festival a couture makeover, proving once and for all that hawker heritage and high fashion can share the same table.

What’s on the Menu? Storytelling, Science, and Street Vibes

Expect a solid lineup of experiences that hit all the right notes:

  • The Long Table: A communal feast where storytelling meets theatre. Come for the food, stay for the drama.
  • Food Is Art: Where desserts get dressed up and cocktails pose for the camera. Expect edible art, fancy plating, and lots of “wait, I’m supposed to eat this?” moments.
  • Future Food: Robots, molecular gastronomy, and experimental tastings. Basically, your first-class ticket to the future of makan.

SFF’s Pop-Up Events are also rolling out across the island — from food trucks and hidden alley feasts to heritage trails and surprise snacks in unexpected places. It’s a literal moving feast.

And don’t miss the SG60 Specials, paying tribute to Singapore’s 60th birthday with modern spins on classic dishes. Got a soft spot for hawker food with a twist? This one’s for you.

Shoutout to Our OGs: Chinatown Complex Joins the Party

Chinatown Complex

You can’t talk about Singapore food without talking about hawker culture — and this year, Chinatown Complex Food Centre takes centre stage as the official Heritage Hawker Partner. With 226 stalls of pure old-school goodness, it’s a love letter to the craft, community and continuity that keeps our makan culture alive.

Under the theme “A Taste of Time,” the centrepiece will honour the unsung hawker heroes who’ve been feeding us for generations — and yes, you’ll be able to taste those stories, one plate at a time.

More Than Just Food — It’s a Feeling

In the lead-up to the festival, keep an eye out for Singapore Food Stories, a heartfelt digital series spotlighting everyday Singaporeans and their food memories. Think recipes passed down from Ah Ma, childhood kopitiam rituals, and all the little things that make food feel like home.
