Spot the panda!

If you spend hours in a day staring at your screen, then you might be able to see this illusion. In case you want to know what you’re looking for in the image, it’s a panda. Why a panda?

Because seeing one in the wild is (almost) impossible, and of course, seeing so many memes and videos of these cute, pudgy bamboo munchers can get monotonous. So here’s an opportunity for you to spot one in the pattern:

The pandas are so rare that only about 1,600 of them exist outside of captivity, making them the rarest bear species on the planet (they’re also on the IUCN’s Red List of Threatened Species). This piece of art was created by Russian artist Ilja Klemencov to help raise awareness of the plight of the panda.

Those who have trouble identifying the bear are advised to take a step back or rotate the picture to a near-ninety degree angle, at which point all should be revealed. Just don’t stare at it until your eyes hurt.
