STGCC 2017: What to expect over the weekend

Fans of pop culture, the wait is over! Over the weekend (9-10 Sep), STGCC will be upon us, and this year’s event – its 10th anniversary – promises huge things happening. Whether you’re into toys, games, comics, anime or cosplay, it’s got everything for the nerd in you.

Special Guests

Here’s a sneak peek into STGCC guests, hailing from all over the world (US, Italy, Japan), with diverse backgrounds. We’ve got a movie prop maker, a professional cosplay model, a pop idol, and several award-winning comic artists.

Meet Simone Legno, no stranger to STGCC (he’s attended all 10 events!), who’s the creative director of Japanese-inspired brand, tokidoki. You’ve already seen his iconic works in Singapore – most recently on our very own EZLink cards (sorry, they’re all sold out by now). He’ll be revealing more new works at the show… check out the Pop Fun segment to find out more.

For Disney fans, meet the friendly James C Mulligan, who’s had a crazy month of travelling across 3 continents (it’s his first time in Singapore). This popular Disney artist will also be performing at STGCC with live drawing sessions! Meet him at Artist Galore segment’s Hall of Fame.

Last but not least, meet professional Italian cosplayer (with crazy abs that can hold a credit card – yes, we can vouch for that), Leon Chiro. A genuinely warm and bubbly guy who just loves to spread joy wherever he goes, grab a photo op with him with his iconic poses at the Akiba Zone! He’ll also be a judge for this year’s Championship of Cosplay, and if he luggage does make it to Singapore on time, we’ll be seeing him in character as Gladius (aka Gladdy Daddy) of FFXV, as well as Jin of Tekken.

Ah Boon got to meet Leon’s abs up close
