A fun night out

You know it is going to be a great party when a hulking monster truck guards the entrance of Mambo Beach Club and a giant inflatable Jagermeister bottle towers over the crowd.

The club was aglow with lights-from the gorgeous pool to the ridiculously cheap glow-in-the-dark lollipops at two dollars a pop (lollipops and glow sticks are truly a fantastic combination).532922_613288488699458_1900177825_n

Getting drinks at the bar was quite an experience, akin to watching circus- sexy bartenders were juggling drinks and serving up tasty concoctions. Early-birds got to snag comfy lounge seats with a superb view of the stage. Some were happily chilling out and knocking back a drink or two, but others were clearing knocking over drinks instead.

As the night progressed, things started to get more exciting. The stage came alive with pulsating LED lights with the crowd working up the dance floor. It was thrilling to get sand in between your toes while dancing to hits from the likes of Sidney Samson and Bassjackers, with the former spinning an insanely addictive track ‘Get Low’-a killer beat that whipped the crowd into frenzy.

Other headliners include DJ Angger Dimas, who have toured with Steve Aoki on his Deadmeat Tour and Kenya-born Kwizyne. Popular local talents include six-time winner of the DJ Battle Champion title Perk, one half of the Tropical Bass DJ and music production duo Bubbleheads, and gorgeous DJs Reiki and Foxxxy, who are mainstays in many clubs in Singapore.

Despite the stellar line-up and solid sound system, the music could get rather frustratingly soft sometimes, inciting screams from the crowd to amp up the volume. A remix of Swedish House Mafia’s ‘Don’t You Worry Child’ was a clear crowd-pleaser and many people, spurred by both music and copious amounts of alcohol, were throwing themselves into the pool and emerging looking both confused and exhilarated.

A memorable night indeed.
