Singapore Lyric Opera Presents 'Opera in the Park'

The Singapore Lyric Opera will be kicking off its 25th anniversary with ‘Opera in the Park’ – back in its 8th season on 6 June 2015, at the Botanic Gardens at 6pm.

This annual outdoor music event is the first in a lineup of concerts and operas put together by the SLO to mark their 25th anniversary, and will feature Singapore-born Wong Kah Chun who will make his debut with the SLO at this concert. The young conductor has led orchestras in Europe and recently conducted the Singapore Symphony Orchestra and Singapore Chinese Orchestra as well. Local mezzo-soprano, Anna Koor and tenor, Jeremy Koh and voice students from the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music. National University of Singapore will also be taking to the stage that evening.

The Programme for the evening will include songs from Rossini’s The Barber of Seville which were featured in Tom & Jerry, as well as Webber’s Les Misérables Do you hear the people sing. Admission to the event is free and open to the public.
