Ten years at the heels of the first Spider-Man movie, The Amazing Spider-man is all set to hit cinemas. Campus Magazine managed to surreptitiously procure two invites to the premiere, and now we’re all psyched to give our Spidey fans a sneak peak, without throwing out any spoilers of course! Read on to learn more about how you can win some Amazing Spider-Man goodies…

To Begin With…

A lot of you may be shrouded in a web (no puns intended) of mystery, wondering why ‘the powers that be’ decided to remake a series so soon after its original debut.  Watching the movie (next week) will dispel all doubts. Without giving anything away, it’s worth mentioning that this movie is loosely based around the original Spider-Man comic books, dating back to the days Peter Parker spent in high school. The plot isn’t a ‘remake’ of the earlier movies as such; it’s more of a ‘reboot’, showcasing a different side to the story. So don’t walk into the movie hall expecting to see a smitten Mary Jane Watson, or a cynical Harry Osborne- those folks had nothing whatsoever to do with Peter Parker’s adolescent years!

The Movie

Showcasing many characters from the initial comic books, the movie revolves around Peter Parker’s (Andrew Garfield) romantic affiliation with high school crush Gwen Stacy (Emma Stone). The rest of the plot is gripping, keeps the audience entertained, and does its fair share to enhance the couple’s colorful romance. The film realistically portrays a quintessential teenager’s frame of mind, against a backdrop of puppy love, adventure and responsibility.

Martin Sheen (Charlie Sheen’s father) does a good job as Uncle Ben, succinctly explaining the concept of ‘moral obligation’, a theme that is repeatedly explored throughout the Spider-Man series. Other characters make cameo appearances, but do not leave a lasting impression. Even though the leading villain, Dr. Curt Connors, is often on-screen, he doesn’t come across as nefarious or scheming. However, he does arouse the audience’s sympathy. Maybe the writers wanted to take a more subtle approach towards villainy; instead of pitting pure good against pure evil, the movie illustrates good and bad deeds, without judging a person’s character too harshly.

This works to the plot’s advantage, leaving the audience with fiction that is better tailored towards what goes on in the real world. On the whole, The Amazing Spider-Man is a good reboot, capable of enthralling fans and laymen. We eagerly await the sequel!

I am really pleased to glance at this website posts which contains tons of useful information, thanks for providing these statistics.

It’s amazing how Peter Parker was not caught in despair despite his tragic fate, but instead he overcame challenges and used his super-powers responsibly to help others after Uncle Ben’s demise. Other than that, I also enjoyed seeing the wonderful chemistry between Peter Parker and Gwen Stacy and they are truly a matching couple! (guessed Andrew & Emma’s off-screen romance helps! :P). In short, The Amazing Spider-Man is a movie really worth watching! 🙂

After seeing the previous 3 spider man movies, I was a bit doubtful about watching this re-boot. But when I saw the movie, how wrong I was! Personally, I believe it’s the best of all spider man movies so far. The cast do a great job of bringing the characters to life. The actions and special effects are awesome and the storyline is heartwarming and brilliant. All these make this movie truly amazing!

The Amazing Spider-Man is the story of Peter Parker (Garfield), an outcast high schooler who was abandoned by his parents as a boy, leaving him to be raised by his Uncle Ben (Sheen) and Aunt May (Field). Like most teenagers, Peter is trying to figure out who he is and how he got to be the person he is today. As Peter discovers a mysterious briefcase that belonged to his father, he begins a quest to understand his parents’ disappearance – leading him directly to Oscorp and the lab of Dr. Curt………Keep’s going on amazingly with a thrilling climax.
I’m sure it would be amazing for you too, so run to watch this fabulous movie. And when you have watched the movie you would say “AMAZING” like I said and this is the amazement in the Movie “The Amazing Spider-Man”

The amazing thing about the amazing spider-man would be the destiny of the hero, swinging its way to continue to bring hope to bumbling teens and loners everywhere. We have to face the responsibility given to us and be like spider-man to overcome all challenges in our life.

The amazing thing about Spiderman is that despite Parker’s complicated childhood where his parents disappeared. With his complicated childhood, he still carry on to be someone amazing! With his powers comes with great responsibility, he did not abuse it and continue to help people who are in need. Indeed, An Admirable Superhero!

The most “Amazing” thing about Peter Parker aka Spiderman is how a poor Science Undergraduate can sew and make such an Amazing superhero suit with shoes to match (and we don’t get to know how he did it…sorry for spoiling the movie magic). Haha~
