Celebrate the school holidays with a visit to the Night Safari’s newest exhibition, Art Seen & Herd!, happening daily at the Entrance Plaza from 1 June to 15 July 2013. Featuring four unique art pieces created by Singaporean street artists, the exhibition focuses on increasing awareness of the threats faced by endangered animals, and is held in conjunction with the new Asiatic black bears and Malayan tiger exhibits in the Night Safari.

Each art piece highlights a different animal – with Michael Ng ‘Mindflyer’ depicting the newest addition to the Safari, the Asiatic bears, Samantha Lo ‘SKL0’ (or more popularly known as ‘Sticker Lady’) showcasing the Malayan tiger, Luthfi Mustafah ‘The Killer Gerbil’ selecting the Asian elephant as his subject and Eman Jeman ‘ClogTwo’, choosing to focus on the Indian rhino.

Created by these prominent street artists, the artworks are full of vibrancy and interactive elements, making them more accessible and engaging to the general public. These creations bring across strong messages about the wildlife with every stroke of paint.

Case in point: ‘The Killer Gerbil’ cleverly used bamboo sheets to cover his drawing of the Asian elephant to point out that the suffering of these animals is evident to us should we choose to pay attention.artseennherd1

Along with the exhibition, visitors can also take part in an Instagram contest where a Safari Adventure Tour for the winner and four of their friends is up for grabs! To enter the competition, simply take a picture of yourself with one of the four art pieces accompanied by a caption on how you can save the threatened species featured in that particular art piece. Post your picture with the hashtag ‘#seenandherd’ and tag ‘@nightsafariofficial’.

Students can also enjoy an ongoing promotion of 50% off admission after 9pm daily, from 1 June to 31 August 2013. Tickets are only purchasable on-site at a Night Safari ticketing counter, with a maximum of two tickets per student pass presented.

With all these events and promotions happening this June, don’t miss the chance to have a wildly fun time!
