As Japan is slowly opening up to the world post-pandemic, you may want to start planning your much-anticipated trip to the land of the rising sun. To give you some inspiration, we ask the multi-talented artists from the LDH talent roster – musicians from GENERATIONS from EXILE TRIBE, and THE RAMPAGE from EXILE TRIBE – who also happen to be cast members of PRINCE OF LEGEND, about their favourite spots in Japan.

Alan Shirahama and Ryota Katayose from GENERATIONS from EXILE TRIBE as well as Kazuma Kawamura and Hokuto Yoshino from THE RAMPAGE from EXILE TRIBE are part of ‘PRINCE OF LEGEND’ (trailer here), which consists of a TV mini-drama series and movie, ‘PRINCE OF LEGEND’, followed by the second part, ‘Kizoku Tanjou (Aristocrat Birth): PRINCE OF LEGEND’ and movie, ‘Kizoku Kourin – PRINCE OF LEGEND’. All are available on Netflix.

Both Kazuma and Hokuto will also feature in the upcoming movie, 「HiGH&LOW THE WORST X」(trailer here).

We ask all four members about their favourite places to visit in Japan, with tips on where to go and what to do while you’re there.

What is your favourite place to visit in Japan?

Alan: It would be Asakusa in Tokyo! This is the city where the culture of Japan remains. There are many gourmet restaurants, temples, and tourist attractions. I would recommended as it is full of the best of both Japan and Tokyo in one place.

Kazuma: Hokkaido and Kyoto.

Hokuto: It would be Miyazaki Prefecture! It’s my home town! I recommend Aoshima Beach, and Sunmesse in Nichinan is very nice!

Ryota: It would be Toyama Prefecture.

Why is it your favourite place?

Alan: I like all things retro. Asakusa has retro things to check out, retro streets, and history. When I go there, I feel like I’ve gone back in time to old Japan.

Kazuma: I love seafood, and Hokkaido has a lot of variety of seafood which I love! Kyoto in particular has the strongest image of Japanese harmony in my mind, and I like its atmosphere.

Hokuto: The sky is wide open and the sea is so clear you can see the horizon! You can relax and think about nothing.

Ryota: There are excellent wineries and plenty of fresh fish.

What do you do there?

Alan: I visit Sensoji temple. You should check that out, there’s a big lantern there.

Kazuma: For Hokkaido, try out lots of seafood of your own preference! It will melt in your mouth. The milk in Hokkaido is also delicious, so you can enjoy ice cream with a different taste! When I travel to Kyoto for work trips and projects, I go to temples and other places with my members if I have time. So if you get the chance, you should go too!

Hokuto: I go to a temple called Aoshima Jingu, it’s a great location! I recommend the Aoshima Ice cream Shop near Aoshima Shrine!

Ryota: You should have lunch and taste wine at a winery called SAYS FARM. The scenery is amazing, and you’ll feel like you’ve wandered into the world of Ghibli.

There you have it! The next time you manage to travel to Japan, you can always check out these spots, as recommended by PRINCE OF LEGEND members. While you’re there, you can also sample some bizarre products and maybe enjoy using their famous toilets.
