Continuing the heat from last year, the highlight of Music Matters Live “K-Pop Night Out”, is back again this year to rock the stage in Singapore.
Presented by Korea Creative Content Agency (KOCCA) in partnership with Music Matters 2013, the showcase was the celebration of the explosive global K-Pop phenomenon.
The press conference of the event was held on the 23rd of May 2013 at The Ritz-Carlton, Millenia Singapore. Artists who made an appearance include: Lena Park (Park Jung Hyun), Park Juwon, Jeon Jeduk, Eastern Sidekick, M.I.B, SPICA and AOA.
Known as the Queen of ballad in Korea, Lena Park announced, “I’m really honoured to be a part of such a booming industry- Kpop and as an artist, I want to continue creating songs that people can relate to and contribute to the progressing music culture.”
The versatile indie artists Park Juwon and Jeon Jeduk shared that they draw their musical inspiration from everywhere, from their daily lives to even out of random moments like when they are at a press conference.
Yang Ji Won of SPICA who spent her trainee days with Wondergirls’ Yu Bin, mentioned that she had been looking forward to come to Singapore as Yu Bin recommended her to visit the country and try chilli crab. Another member from the girl band AOA commented that she feels lucky to have her fellow members in the band as they feel like a family, especially because she was brought up as an only child and now they are no different as her real sisters.
When asked if there are any variety shows that they want to appear on, both AOA and M.I.B answered that they would love to be on one of Korea’s most popular comedy show “Infinity Challenge” and revealed that they are huge fans of the show which even featured the Youtube sensation PSY performing live at Times Square last year.
